Bowling Green Defeated At Buffalo In 2019 Season Finale

Bowling Green rushed for over 100 yards for the 11th time this season, led by 89 yards from senior Davon Jones in his final game as a Falcon. Jones carried the ball 25 times for 89 yards and a touchdown. Jones also led BGSU with three catches, while tight end Quintin Morris added a team-high 35 receiving yards. Buffalo entered the game ranked as the No. 8 rush defense in the country. The Falcons rushed for 106 yards against a UB defense that was allowing 94.4 yards per game.
Jones' score was a 14-yard scamper that pulled the Falcons within two scores at 21-7 at the 10:58 mark of the second quarter. Bowling Green trailed by a 35-7 margin at the break, but allowed just a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns over the final 30 minutes of play.
Jordan Anderson (12), Eldridge Salguero (10) and Antonyo Sotolongo (10) each registered double-digit tackles for the Bowling Green defense. Both Anderson and Salguero set career highs on the day. Anderson's previous career high came when he registered eight tackles in the win over Toledo this season. Salguero had four tackles in a 2018 contest at Georgia Tech.
Freshman linebacker Darren Anders earned the first start of his collegiate career, and finished the game with a half tackle for loss. Salguero led the Orange and Brown with 1.5 tackles for loss. Running back Bryson Denley led the Falcons with 93 all-purpose yards.
