FULL GAME NOTES
Buffering the Bulls
In the first meeting with Buffalo, the Falcons came away with a 3-0 sweep at the Stroh Center, not allowing the Bulls to score more than 20 points in a set. Since then, Buffalo has gone 4-4, picking up wins over Central Michigan and Akron, both over five sets. Five set matches have become a norm for the Bulls, having seen five of their last seven matches go to a fifth set. Statistically, Buffalo's strength this year has been blocking, averaging 2.19 a set for second in the MAC.
Assembling for Akron
The Zips took the first meeting between the two teams, winning 3-1, and now hold on to second place in the MAC East entering the weekend. However, the Zips have split the last two weekends, falling to Central Michigan, 3-0, and Buffalo, 3-2. The Zips success has been in large part due to their ability at the service line, leading the MAC in aces with an average of 1.59 per set and a total of 137 on the year.Â
Last Time Out
The Falcons began the weekend with a loss to Kent State on Friday, 3-1, despite strong stat lines from multiple players. Jacqueline Askin registered her first 20-kill match of her career, totaling 22, while Katelyn Meyer totaled 20 herself, being her third 20-kill match this season, and second consecutive. Katie Kidwell filled the stat sheet as well, notching nine kills in addition to five total blocks, three solo and two assists. On Saturday, the Orange and Brown continued a season long trend of bouncing back following a loss, topping Ohio via three-set sweep. Going back to the first meeting, where the Falcons overcame a 2-0 deficit, Bowling Green extended a set win streak against Ohio to six on the season. Statistically, a team effort pushed the Falcons to the win led by senior Isabelle Marciniak who totaled her ninth double-double of the season, logging 36 assists and 13 digs.Â
Digging and Attacking at a National Level
As a team, Bowling Green has worked their way into the nationally rankings, statistically, for both digs per set and team attacks per set. Currently averaging 18.2 digs per set, the Falcons have moved up to fifth in the nation, trailing just Charlotte, Fordham, Bradley and Wright State. On the attacking end, Bowling Green is averaging 38.64 attacks a set, which is ninth in the nation and first in the MAC.Â
Kidwell Continues Climb on All-Time Lists

With 367 total blocks, Kidwell is currently tied with Carlyn Esslinger for 10th all-time.
