Junior honored after 25-point effort in win at Marshall
Bowling Green State University women's basketball standout Angela Perry has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 10). Perry, a junior, earns the honor for the first time in her BGSU career.
Perry, a native of Rochester, Ill. (Rochester H.S.), scored 25 points, shooting nearly 85 percent from the field, in the Falcons' 82-69 win at Marshall on Saturday (Dec. 7). Perry made 11 of her 13 shots from the floor en route to her game-high scoring total. She made her only three-point attempt, and also had eight rebounds, four assists and a pair of blocked shots in the win over the Thundering Herd.
Perry has scored 61 points over her last two games, making 27 of 35 shots from the floor, including all three of her three-point tries, during that time.
On the season, Perry is averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game, and she currently leads the MAC and ranks third in the entire nation in field-goal percentage (.726; 53-of-73).
Perry earned the league Player-of-the-Week honor for the East Division. Ball State's Oshlynn Brown was named the MAC's West Division P-O-W.
Perry, head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons return to the road this weekend. The Falcons will continue a stretch of eight-straight games away from home, taking on Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 14) before meeting Loyola University Chicago in a Monday (Dec. 16) matinee in the Windy City.
