Kruse, Perry Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Brandon Kruse and women's basketball player Angela Perry.

Male Athlete of the Week
Brandon Kruse, a junior from Saline, Mich., had a three-point weekend for the Falcons as BGSU swept No. 5 Notre Dame by identical 5-2 scores. In Friday's win, Kruse logged an early goal, his first of the season, to extend the Falcon lead. Earlier in the contest he also had an assist. Saturday, he provided an encore with his second goal of the season and second in as many contests.

Female Athlete of the Week

Angela Perry, a junior from Rochester, Ill., led BGSU in scoring and shot better than 73 percent from the field in three games this week. She averaged 15.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks at the Greater Victoria Invitational. On the final day, she exploded for 36 points, the third-highest total in school history, in BG's 98-60 win over California Baptist. She was 16-of-22 from the field, tying the BG single-game record for field goals made.
