Plowden, Thompson Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Daeqwon Plowden and women's basketball player Caterrion Thompson.

Male Athlete of the Week
Daeqwon Plowden, a junior from Philadelphia, Pa., averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds during Bowling Green's two-game stay at the Boardwalk Battle. Plowden registered the fourth and fifth double-doubles of his career. After a 15-point, 11-rebound performance against Norfolk State, he finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds against Quinnipiac.

Female Athlete of the Week

Caterrion Thompson, a redshirt junior from Lima, Ohio, averaged a team-leading 17.0 points per game as the Falcons suffered a pair of narrow road losses to Loyola Chicago and Purdue, two teams with a combined record of 17-3 entering the games. Thompson shot 50 percent from the floor, including a 5-for-12 (41.7 percent) rate from three-point land. She scored 16 points at Loyola Chicago, going 7-of-11 from the floor against the undefeated Ramblers. Then, at Purdue, Thompson had a team-high 18 points, adding four rebounds and a pair of steals.
