Coming Home: Tennis Hosting Indiana Tech At Perrysburg Tennis Center Saturday
February 01, 2019 | Women's Tennis
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 2 for their first home match of the season. The Falcons will host Indiana Tech at the Perrysburg Tennis Center with first serve set for 1 p.m. Bowling Green will carry a 1-2 record in spring play into the match, which will be the first of two consecutive homes matches.
Returning to Form
To open the season, the Orange and Brown began by sweeping Bellarmine University, followed by a close match with Louisville. In those matches, the Falcons were led in singles by Paula Comella and Vanesa Pardo who each captured wins in both matches. As for doubles, the duo of Polina Radeva and Ayumi Sasaki came away with victories in both matches as well.
History on BG's Side
Despite losing the last two matches Notre Dame and Louisville, the losses could bode well for the Falcons heading into the match with Indiana Tech. Last season, Bowling Green ended all losing streaks at just two, never losing a third consecutive match. Following two losses, the Falcons only allowed an opponent to reach three points once.
Watching the Warriors
For Indiana Tech, the match will serve as their first of the spring campaign. During the fall, the Warriors posted a 1-3 record with the lone win coming against the University of Saint Francis by a score of 5-4. Over the course of the 2017-18 season, Indiana Tech concluded with a 3-17 record.
New Team, Who's This?
This will be the first time the Falcons and the Warriors have met in program history. Bowling Green has faced many Indiana based foes, but have yet to meet Indiana Tech.
