Falcons Set To Compete In Colleton River Collegiate Tournament In South Carolina

Falcons back in tournament play to continue their spring campaign
Bluffton, SC – The BGSU Men's Golf team will continue its Spring season by playing in the Colleton River Collegiate Tournament in Bluffton, South Carolina on March 4-5. The Falcons competed in the event in 2016 and finished in ninth place.Â
This tournament will be one of the strongest playing fields BGSU has been a part of with seven of the 14 teams ranking in the top 100 of Golfstat's Team Rankings and four in the top 60 (Rankings as of 2/26/19).Â
BGSU opened the spring campaign finishing runner up at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play Tournament Feb. 4-5. The Falcons fell to Miami (OH) in the final but had wins over Ohio and Eastern Michigan, respectively.Â
The Falcons finished no worse than seventh in all of their events during the Fall season, including finishing in third place at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational.  Â
Some standout individual performances included Rodrigue Vie winning the MAC Men's Golfer of the Week on Sept. 13. Vie shot -7 over three rounds at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational to finish fourth out of 75 golfers at the event. His 67-73-69-209 was the top BG result and he led the team to a third place finish out of 13 teams, including defeating MAC-rival Toledo. Pablo Heredia Iglesias had two top ten finishes in the fall campaign, finishing T-4th at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate and finishing T-10th at the Dayton Flyer Invitational.

Schedule of Events
Day 1: 36 holes continuous play, Day 2: 18 holes
