LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program captured the 2019 Mid-American Match Play Challenge Championship on Tuesday (Feb. 5). The Falcons defeated Northern Illinois in the semifinals, 4-0-1, before knocking off Florida Gulf Coast in a playoff to win the title.

In the playoff hole, Nichole Cox, Sammi Blackburn, Erin Fahey and Julia Durkin earned a half point each, while Jessica Madry won her head-to-head clash, giving the Falcons the 3-2 playoff victory. The match-play event was hosted by Bowling Green in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. It was an incredibly successful trip for BGSU, as the Falcons won the Spring Cup Challenge on Feb. 2 in Lakewood Ranch.
