Named head coach Nov. 28, Loeffler and his staff had three weeks before the early signing period to build relationships and hold together a recruiting class. The staff succeeded at that task and then added to it with three new signees Wednesday. They are Austin Dorris, a graduate transfer tight end from Indiana University, Anthony Johnson (Cleveland, Ohio / Cleveland Heights High School) and Christian Sims (Norcross, Ga. / Norcross High School).
In total, 11 members of the class hail from Ohio and four more from Michigan for a total of 15 signees (75 percent of the class). Two more come from Pennsylvania, with one each from the states of California, Georgia and New Jersey. Five of the 20 signees are defensive backs and four play on the defensive line. The team added three tight ends and three offensive linemen, as well as a pair of wide receivers, two linebackers and an athlete.
