Lemke Places 11th In 3-Meter Dive At NCAA Diving Zone C

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Junior Talisa Lemke of the Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team competed at the NCAA Zone C Championships in West Lafayette, Ind. on Thursday (March 14). On day one of the three day event, Lemke participated in the 3-meter dive event, completing six dives for a score of 560.85, earning an 11th place finish.
Prelim/Quarterfinals
In the Prelim/Quarterfinal stage, Lemke totaled a score of 271.65 to advance to the finals. Her Prelim/Quarterfinal dives received scores of 44.40, 49.95, 43.50, 46.60, 39.20 and 49.00 respectively. Lemke's best dive of the round came on an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Tuck and propelled her to ninth place at the time. She concluded the Prelim/Quarterfinal round in 13th.
Finals
Advancing to the finals, Lemke attempted six more dives totaling her final score of 560.85. In this round Lemke's dives scored 45.60, 48.60, 52.20, 50.40, 43.40 and 49.00 respectively. Her best dive of the finals round came on a Reverse 1 ½ Somersault 2 ½ Twist Free. For the round, she placed eighth, with an overall finish of 11th.

Zone C
For the 3-Meter Dive, Zone C will send the top seven finishers, however there is a wrinkle. If Lemke qualifies for the NCAA Championships in another dive, like the 1-meter, then she can also compete in the 3-meter since she placed within the top 12 at Zone C.
1-Meter Friday
On Friday, March 15, Lemke and freshman Kylie Mosset will be competing in the 1-meter dive at the NCAA Diving Zones C in West Lafayette. For Lemke, she advanced to the NCAA Championships in the event last after a strong performance at the Diving Zones. As for Mosset, this will be here first opportunity at qualifying for the NCAA Championships. For the 1-meter dive, the top 12 placing divers will advance to the NCAA Championships.
