Falcons Close Non-Conference Play With Loss To Clemson

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program came up short against Clemson University on Tuesday (March 19) losing 7-0. With the win against Principia on Monday (March 18), the Falcons will leave California with a 1-1 record for the trip. On the season, the Orange and Brown now hold a 7-6 record overall with conference play beginning this coming weekend. Bowling Green is currently slated to face seven MAC opponents highlighted by the Battle of I-75 on Sunday, April 7.

The match will be the first of two over the weekend with the Falcons playing in Akron on Sunday, March 24. On their way to the 5-3 record, the Falcons fell to the Bulls in the regular season by a score of 7-0, however they topped the Zips 6-1.

- The loss in No. 1 doubles is the first for Comella and Tavpash since Feb. 16 and brings an end to a four match win streak for the BGSU duo. During the streak, they were named MAC Doubles Team of the Week on Feb. 27 following a win over No. 4 ranked (Division II) Indianapolis.
