Lambert, East Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Neil Lambert and gymnast Jovannah East.
Male Athlete of the Week
Neil Lambert, a senior infielder from Pontiac, Ill., could not be kept off the bases during Bowling Green's conference-opening sweep of Toledo at Steller Field. Lambert posted a .667 batting average and a .833 on-base percentage. Lambert also scored four runs on the weekend, crossing the plate at least one time in every game. Lambert added four hits and six walks, as well. He reached base multiple times in all three games, including a two-hit, three-walk performance in the second game of the series. Lambert is now hitting .371 on the season with a .466 on-base percentage.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jovannah East, a junior from Zion, Ill., won the balance beam and placed third in the all-around at the Mid-American Conference Championships Saturday. East scored a 9.900 on beam to win her second career MAC event title. She also scored 9.850 on floor, 9.825 on vault and 9.550 on bars for an all-around score of 39.125. East was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance.
