Antle, Gustafson Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball pitcher Chase Antle and track and field thrower Aliyah Gustafson.
Male Athlete of the Week
Chase Antle, a redshirt junior from Grove City, Ohio, had a strong week on the mound for the BGSU baseball team. Antle pitched 5.0 shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out seven batters. In a scoreless inning of work at Michigan (April 17), Antle struck out one. In a weekend start versus Western Michigan (April 21), Antle threw 4.0 no-hit innings. He struck out six and left the ballgame with a 2-0 lead.
Female Athlete of the Week
Aliyah Gustafson, a redshirt senior from Iowa City, Iowa, threw a season-best in the shot put, posting a mark of 56-feet-7.5 (17.26m) for the top collegiate effort at the Virginia Challenge. Gustafson's throw ranks sixth in the country and is the fourth-best performance in BGSU program history (Gustafson owns each of the top three).Â
