Six Falcons Earn CSC Academic All-District Nod

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Six members of the Bowling Green women's cross country and track and field program have been named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Kiera Bonds, Kylee Cubbison, Kiersten Franklin, Rachael Hoover, Jenna Lucas and Bianca Staples earned the honor, which recognizes student-athletes for their combined excellence on the field of play and in the classroom.
Kiera Bonds, Human Development and Family Science, 4.000 GPA
In her junior season, Bonds made her mark in the long jump, setting a new BGSU program record in the outdoor season by seven centimeters and qualifying for her first NCAA East Regional in the event. The Galloway, Ohio, native has been a consistent performer for the Falcons since arriving on campus, steadily developing into one of the program's top horizontal jumpers.
Bonds has maintained a perfect 4.000 cumulative GPA across three seasons at Bowling Green. She earned a Second Team Indoor All-MAC nomination in 2025-26 and has appeared on the Indoor Academic All-MAC team twice.
Kylee Cubbison, Health Science, 4.000
Cubbison capped a storied BG career with a standout senior season across cross country and track and field. In the fall, she broke the school record in the 6K, finished third at the MAC Championships and placed 14th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. Indoors, she set a school record in the 3,000 meters and anchored the distance medley relay to a gold medal at the MAC Indoor Championships. She then added a third individual MAC Outdoor Championship in the 1,500 meters, also setting a new school record in the event at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
The senior earned First Team All-MAC honors in both cross country and outdoor track and field, was Second Team Indoor All-MAC, and was All-Region in cross country. Carrying a perfect 4.000 cumulative GPA, Cubbison was named to eight Academic All-MAC teams, earned a 2025 USTFCCCA All-Academic nod and now picks up her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor.
Kiersten Franklin, Nursing, 3.860 GPA
A standout sprinter, Franklin earned a Second Team Indoor All-MAC nomination and collected multiple MAC medals in the 2025-26 campaign. She hit her peak at the MAC Indoor Championships, taking a silver medal in the 60-meter dash and setting a new BGSU record in the 200 meters. She carried that momentum outdoors, breaking program records in both the 100 and 200 meters. Her 200-meter mark earned her a bronze medal at the MAC Outdoor Championships, capping her collegiate career on the podium.
A nursing major with a 3.860 cumulative GPA, Franklin was named to the 2026 Indoor Academic All-MAC team and receives her first CSC Academic All-District honor.
Rachael Hoover, Pre-Exercise Science, 4.000 GPA
Hoover took a major step forward in her sophomore season, establishing herself as one of the premier middle-distance runners in the MAC. She set school records in the 800 meters, won the individual MAC Outdoor Championship in that event and finished the year ranked in the top 15 in the Great Lakes region in the 800, mile and 1,500.
Coming off a freshman year in which she earned second-team Outdoor All-MAC honors, Hoover set school records in the 800 meters and mile during the indoor season. At the Duke Twilight Invitational, the Plain City, Ohio, native lowered the BGSU record in the 800 to 2:05.01, qualified for the NCAA East Outdoor Regional, and finished the season among the top 100 times in the country.
At the 2026 MAC Outdoor Championships, Hoover won the 800 meters and was named first-team Outdoor All-MAC. She has earned Academic All-MAC honors in both of her seasons at Bowling Green and maintains a perfect 4.000 cumulative GPA as a pre-exercise science major.
Jenna Lucas, Systems Engineering, 3.966 GPA
A team captain for the past two seasons, Lucas closed out her career as one of the most decorated multi-event athletes in program history. The systems engineering major earned podium finishes in the pentathlon at the 2024 and 2026 MAC Indoor Championships and ranks in the top 10 all-time at BGSU in the pentathlon, heptathlon and javelin. The MAC recognized her contributions beyond the track as well, presenting her with the Medal of Excellence in 2026.
Academically, Lucas holds a 3.966 cumulative GPA and collects her third consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor to go alongside five Academic All-MAC nominations and a 2024 USTFCCCA All-Academic award.
Bianca Staples, Exercise Science, 3.836 GPA
Staples closes out her career among the most accomplished triple jumpers in BGSU history, ranking second all-time in both the indoor and outdoor events. She capped her senior season by qualifying for the NCAA East Outdoor Regional for the third time and now earning her third consecutive CSC Academic All-District award.
In 2024, Staples earned silver medals in the triple jump at both the MAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships. She followed that with a breakout 2025 campaign, capturing the triple jump title at the MAC Indoor Championships and earning first-team All-MAC honors indoors and outdoors.
The exercise science major holds a 3.836 cumulative GPA, has appeared on four Academic All-MAC teams and was a 2024 USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
The CSC Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation's top NCAA Division I student-athletes for their combined performance in competition and in the classroom.
