
Final Set Heroics Clinch Battle Of I-75 Victory For Falcons

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program came away with their second MAC win of the season with a 4-3 win over Toledo in the Battle of I-75. The match also served as the tennis team's Meserve Cup match. Late match heroics by Vanesa Pardo clinched the win for the Falcons after she overcame an 0-2 deficit in her third and final set. The win moves Bowling Green's overall record to an even 9-9 on the season, including a 2-3 conference standing.

Statistical Standouts
- In No. 2 doubles, Radeva and Sasaki capitalized on a three point run to win the set 7-5 after trailing 5-4.
- After starting down 0-2 in No. 1 doubles, Comella and Tavpash fought their way back, taking a 6-5 lead, but the Rockets duo of Leenabanchong and Chishaki came back for the win.
- Radeva only allowed her opponent, Chishaki, to score one point over the two set match for No. 3 singles.
- In No. 1 singles play, Comella overcame a 3-0 start in the second set to win, 7-6. She continued her fight into the third set, but after additional points to settle the set and match, Comella was on the wrong end of a 7-6 final.
- In both sets she won, the first and the third, Pardo trailed, but overcame both deficits to clinch the match for BGSU.
- With win No. 60 for her career in singles, Radeva moves up to a tie for No. 22 on the BGSU all-time singles win list. She is currently tied with Mary Hill (2011-13).
- Tavpash is also moving up the singles all-time list. With her win today, she now has 47 in her career, tying her for No. 29 all-time with Jenna Nussbaum (2005-08) and Katie Brozovich (2013-14).
- Radeva also made a jump on the all-time combined wins list. Picking up a win in both singles and doubles, she is now up to 106 combined wins, tying her for No. 26, also with Nussbaum.
