Kramer started all 12 games on the offensive line a year ago for Bowling Green, playing the first five games at left guard. He moved over to center for the final seven games of the season and was named third team All-MAC by both the league's head coaches and by Phil Steele.
Kramer has started 20 games over the past two seasons for Bowling Green, only missing contests due to injury. He has played in 30 career games for the Falcons entering his senior season.
The Rimington Trophy committee uses three prestigious All-American teams to determine a winner of the award: the Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News, and the Football Writers Association of America. The center with the most first team All-America votes earns the Rimington Trophy. Ties are broken by second team All-American votes and majority vote by the Rimington Trophy committee. The winner will be recognized at the Rimington Trophy Presentation at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Neb. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020.
Since its inception, the award has raised over $4.2 million for the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
Cramer is the third Falcon to be named to a preseason watch list in recent days. Long snapper Gabe Skrobot has been named a candidate for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, given to individuals who make an impact off the field, while running back Andrew Clair was named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, given to the nation's top running back.
