Quintin Morris Named To Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University junior wide receiver Quintin Morris has been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List. The award is presented annually to the top offensive player in Division I football who exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell. To be considered, candidates must have been born in Texas, graduated from a Texas High School, and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college.

Morris, who is from Richmond, Texas, is Bowling Green's leading returning receiver. In 12 games, Morris caught 42 passes for 516 yards and seven touchdowns. Against Eastern Kentucky, Morris hauled in eight catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns, all career highs. He graduated from George Ranch High School in 2017, earning Offensive MVP at the Blue-Gray All American Bowl Southwest Super Regional Combine.
The Watch List will be narrowed to 16 semifinalists in November and five finalists in December. On January 15, 2020, the finalists will attend the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet, where the winner will be announced.
Earl Campbell graduated from John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas before playing running back for the Texas Longhorns. He won the Heisman Trophy as a senior, rushing for 1,744 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was drafted first overall by the Houston Oilers, where he won Rookie of the Year honors in 1978 and led the league in rushing three times. The 1979 NFL MVP was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991.
