Michigan native, Ferris State Grad Joins Fralick's Staff at BGSU
Bowling Green State University women's basketball coach Robyn Fralick has announced the addition of Abby Nakfoor as the program's video coordinator. Nakfoor recently joined BGSU after a four-year playing career at Ferris State University.
"We are so excited to add Abby to our staff," said Fralick. "She adds an incredible work ethic, positivity and a wonderful ability to 'figure it out'. Â Her daily enthusiasm, coupled with her work ethic, makes us all better. We are fortunate to add her to our Bowling Green family. "
Nakfoor, a native of DeWitt, Mich., played in a total of 106 games at FSU during her four-year career. She averaged 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest with the Bulldogs, shooting nearly 82 percent from the free-throw line. Nakfoor helped the Bulldogs reached the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament semifinals in her junior year and the league tourney quarterfinals as a senior.
"I'm so thankful for the opportunity to learn from this staff and team," said Nakfoor. "I've faced these coaches as a player many times and have always admired their leadership and knowledge of the game. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the culture they're building at Bowling Green. So far I've loved every second and also felt so much love from the team and the rest of the staff."
Nakfoor earned three letters at DeWitt H.S., helping the team advance all the way to the state championship game as a senior. She averaged 12.2 points and 5.2 boards that season, as the Panthers claimed league, district and regional crowns on the way to the state title contest. A two-time all-conference player, she was named to the Associated Press and Detroit Free Press Class A All-State teams in her senior season.
Nakfoor also competed in volleyball and track & field, earning all-region honors in volleyball and helping that team to conference and district titles in her senior season.
Nakfoor rounds out a staff that includes Fralick, associate head coach Kim Cameron, assistant coaches Maria Kasza and Joel Whymer and director of operations Monique Rosati.
