BGSU MEN'S SOCCER: MIC'D UP
FIVE FASCINATING FALCON FACTS
• The Falcons have lost back-to-back matches for the first time in nearly a year. BG suffered road losses to Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne in September of 2018, but then went 9-2-3 in regular-season contests and 9-3-3 overall before falling to Cincinnati and nationally-ranked Kentucky over the last week.
• The UC match, a 4-3 overtime setback on Saturday (Sept. 21), was the first time in 10 years and three days that BGSU scored three goals and lost. The Falcons also fell by a 4-3 count to Dayton on Sept. 18, 2009, in the first year of the Eric Nichols Era.
• Since Nichols took the BG helm prior to the 2009 season, the Falcons have a record of 58-8-6 when scoring at least two goals in a match. BGSU is now 29-2-2 when scoring three or more goals during that time.
• Senior Chris Brennan leads the team with 10 points this season, and had a six-match point-scoring streak snapped at Kentucky on Tuesday (Sept. 24). He now has career totals of 39 points on 14 goals and 11 assists, leading all current Falcons in each of those three categories.
• Brennan has scored 10 of his 14 career goals at home. BGSU is 8-4-2 overall, including 6-2-2 at Cochrane, when he scores a goal. The Falcons are 7-1-1, including 3-0-1 at home, when Brennan has at least one assist.

THE OPPONENTS
• Canisius is currently 1-5-0 on the season, and the Golden Griffins will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak on Saturday night. Most recently, Canisius fell to Cornell, 2-0, and St. Bonaventure, 3-0.  Senior Troy Baker is the leading scorer for the Griffs, with two goals and five points. Five different players have at least one goal. Between the posts, Fabio D'Errico has started four matches and has 24 saves and a 2.18 GAA. Tom Crosbie has made two starts and has nine stops and a 3.50 GAA for head coach Dermot McGrane.
• Detroit Mercy is 2-5-0 on the season, with a 1-2-0 record at home. The Titans will be looking to snap a three-match winless streak on Saturday evening at Oakland. Most recently, UDM dropped a 2-1, overtime decision to UIC. Six different Titans have scored one goal on the season. Two of those six, Kyle Bandyk and Collin Cavanaugh, each have a pair of assists and four total points. Devin Mendez has been in goal for all 633:47 minutes of action, and has a 2.70 GAA on the year for coach Nicholas Deren. Â
THE SERIES
• BGSU trails Canisius, 1-0-1, in the all-time series. Both previous matches were played at Cochrane, and both went to overtime. The Griffs and Falcons battled to a scoreless draw in 2001, and Canisius picked up a 2-1 win in 2007.
• The Falcons lead Detroit Mercy, 17-8-2, in that series, and Tuesday's meeting will be the teams' first in five years. The Falcons and Titans met every year from 2006-14, and in all but two seasons (1999 and 2005) between 1987 and 2014. The last meeting saw Pat Flynn score in the second overtime for a1-0 BG win at Titan Field, snapping a two-match UDM winning streak. The Falcons have won three-straight road games vs. the Titans, and BG is 4-0-1 in the last five trips to Titan Field. In fact, the road team has won each of the last six meetings, and the home team has not won since a 2-1 BGSU victory in 2007. The Falcons are 8-4-1 at home and 9-4-1 on the road vs. Detroit Mercy through the years.
DOWN THE ROAD...
• Following the UDM  match, BG will continue a stretch of four-straight road matches, facing IUPUI in Indianapolis the following Tuesday (Oct. 8). Then, the Orange and Brown will open MAC play with contests at Akron (Oct. 12) and SIUE (Oct. 19) on back-to-back Saturdays.
• BG's next home game after the Canisius match is on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when Purdue Fort Wayne comes to town.
