Men's Golf Continues Season In Akron On Monday

Akron, Ohio – The BGSU Men's Golf team will continue their 2019 fall season with a trip to Akron, Ohio and take part in the Firestone Invitational hosted by the University of Akron.
This is the second event of the season for the Falcons as they opened their season two weekends ago and finished fourth in the Raising Canes Invitational hosted by Eastern Kentucky University. The event will be hosted at Firestone Country Club which is the current home of the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship through 2022.
NOTES
Both Rodrigue Vie and Tom North finished T-4th among 74 total golfers. North competed in his first event as a Falcon finishing with a total score of 211. He shot a Sunday score of 68 and lead the team with 12 birdies.
Vie picked up where his 2018-19 season left off shooting seven birdies for the tournament and stayed steady going 71-71-69 over three rounds. This is the highest Vie has finished since last year's opening tournament at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational where he also finished T-4th.
Freshman Dylan Fitchet and junior Ian Mackenzie-Olson both made their debut for the Falcons as well. Returnees Nick Hofland and Curtis Hughes also competed for the Orange and Brown.
The fall season will feature four events and the spring season will have seven events. Bowling Green's spring season includes trips to Texas, South Carolina, Arizona and Missouri among other stops.
The 2018-19 team posted three top five finishes as a team, including finishing third at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational for the best team finish of the season. The Falcons also finished fifth at the Mid-American Conference Golf Championship, which was the best finish since 2013.

Tournament Field: Akron, Bowling Green, Dartmouth, Dayton, Drexel, Eastern Michigan, IUPUI, Old Dominion, Ohio, Santa Clara, South Carolina Aiken, Temple, William & Mary, Winthrop and Youngstown State.
