Other Key Plays
- With the game still scoreless at the 13:30 mark, Eric Dop made a big save for the Falcons, deflecting a backhanded attempt from the crease for Alaska.Â
- Halfway through the second period the action paused for glass maintenance after a battle for the puck to the right of the Falcon goal.Â
- With 12:39 remaining in the third period Evan Dougherty was called for checking from behind and issued a 5-minute major as well as being ejected from the game. With a pair of penalties following the five-minute major, the Nanooks had a power play for nearly eight straight minutes, from which they scored the game-tying goal. Â
- The Falcons had a power play opportunity in the overtime period, but it slipped away as it was canceled out by a Bowling Green penalty, resulting in 4v4 hockey.Â
Falcon Stat Facts
- With a goal and an assist in the first period alone, Rauhauser hit the 30 point mark for the season, being just the fourth defensemen in the nation to reach the number thus far this season.
- Kruse also neared a milestone with his goal, being his 98th career point in the Orange and Brown. If Kruse can reach the mark this season he and Rauhauser will be the first pair of Falcon teammates to hit 100 career points in the same season for the first time since 1995-96 when five Falcons did so.
- Seeing Kruse's goal come on the power play, it went down as the 37th power play goal of the season for Bowling Green, which leads the nation.Â
