Talisa Lemke Named MAC Scholar-Athlete Of The Week
March 04, 2020 | Women's Swimming & Diving
Cleveland, Ohio – Senior Talisa Lemke of the Bowling Green State University swim and dive team has been named the MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week. This award comes after Lemke's historic weekend at the 2020 MAC Championships, which featured two individual titles and two conference awards. She won the 1 meter dive with a pool-record score of 327.42 and the 3 meter dive with a score of 351.36. Those victories marked her third consecutive 1 meter title and second consecutive 3 meter title.
Lemke's MAC titles helped her earn MAC Diver of the Year for the third consecutive season, with 2020 being the second consecutive season she has won the award outright. She was also named First Team All-MAC for the third year in a row. Prior to her 3 meter victory, the native of Germany was recognized as the MAC's Most Outstanding Senior, the first BGSU swimmer or diver to earn this honor.
This is the second time Lemke has been recognized as MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the first coming in 2017. She is a senior majoring in Theatre and currently holds a 4.0 GPA.

Lemke is one of 10 Falcons who will compete next weekend on the boards or in the pool. Lemke and sophomore Kylie Mosset will compete at the NCAA Diving Zones at the University of Kentucky. This is the second consecutive season the duo has qualified for the Diving Zones and the first time they will compete in Lexington, Kentucky. In 2018, Lemke advanced from the Diving Zones to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Eight Falcons will swim at the National Invitational Championship in Cleveland, Ohio. Daisy Platts, who broke three school records and won two MAC titles over the weekend, will compete at Cleveland State University for the first time since breaking the pool's 200 IM record. Sarah Hennings, who also broke a school record at MACs, will compete as well. They will be joined by their medley relay teammates Anna Eriksson and Taylor Harris.
Also swimming in Cleveland will be juniors Maddy Andrews, Shaunna Jones, Noelle Lavigne, and Shaunna Jones. For all eight swimmers, this will be the first time competing at the National Invitational Championship. The squad previously competed in Cleveland at the Magnus Cup, placing fourth among 13 teams. Last weekend, the Falcons finished fifth in the MAC.
