BG Falcon Hockey Unveils 2020-21 Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University hockey program, which is coming off its sixth straight 20-win season, along with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2020-21 campaign. The schedule will consist of 36 regular season games, including 17 home games at the Slater Family Ice Arena, as well as the Winterfest game against R.I.T at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio.

""We are very excited about our 2020-2021 Hockey Schedule," said Head Coach Ty Eigner. "We have a very good Non-Conference schedule with early series vs SLU, WMU and Miami. And a great home series in January with RIT that features an Outdoor Game at Fifth Third Field January 2. As always we are looking forward to another really competitive WCHA Conference schedule that certainly will bring a ton of excitement to Slater Family Ice Arena."

The regular season schedule will begin for the Falcons on Oct. 9-10 with a trip to Canton, N.Y. to face St. Lawrence University. From there, the Orange and Brown will head to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the first game of a home-and-home series against Western Michigan. The home opener for the Falcons will take place during that series on Oct. 17 at 7:07 p.m. The following weekend Bowling Green will play in another home-and-home series, this time against Miami with the home game being on Oct. 23 with a 7:07 p.m. puck drop.

After an off-weekend, the Falcons will begin WCHA play on Nov. 6-7, hosting Ferris State in a weekend series with both games set for 7:07 p.m. puck drops. Conference play will take to the road the following weekend against Alabama Huntsville. Bowling Green will return to the Slater Family Ice Arena on Nov. 20-21 against Alaska Anchorage for the first of back-to-back home series. The second series, being the next weekend (Nov. 27-28), will be against Michigan Tech.

The Orange and Brown will return to the road for the next two series, first facing Minnesota State on Dec. 4-5 before going up against Northern Michigan on Dec. 11-12. The Falcons will conclude their 2020 calendar with a home game against R.I.T. on Dec. 31 with a 5:07 p.m. puck.

The 2021 calendar will pick up where the 2020 calendar left off, with the Falcons facing R.I.T. in the second game of the series, which will take place at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio as part of the Toledo Walleye's Winterfest. Currently, that game is set for a 6 p.m. puck drop.

The next series for Bowling Green will be back at Slater Family Ice Arena, hosting Bemidji State on Jan. 8-9, both set for 7:07 p.m. puck drops. From there it will be another two weekends on the road for the Falcons. The first road series of 2021 will be played against Lake Superior State on Jan 15-16 followed by the team's lone trip to Alaska of the season, playing Alaska on Jan. 22-23.

For the rest of the season, the Falcons will alternate home and away weekends, beginning with hosting Northern Michigan on Jan. 29-30 for 7:07 p.m. Next on the schedule will be a trip to Big Rapids, Mich. to face Ferris State on Feb. 5-6. The schedule will shift back to Bowling Green on Feb. 12-13, once again facing Alaska, this time at Slater Family Ice Arena for a 7:07 p.m. puck drop.

The final road series of the regular season will be against Bemidji State on Feb. 19-20 before returning to Bowling Green for the final home series. On Feb. 26-27, the Falcons will close out the regular season against Alabama Huntsville with two 7:07 p.m. puck drops.

The WCHA playoffs are set to take place on campus sites in all rounds once again. The Quarter Finals will take place from March 5-7 followed by the WCHA Semi-Finals on March 12-14. The WCHA Finals is currently set for March 20.

As for the NCAA Tournament, the NCAA Quarterfinals will be played on March 26-28 with sites yet to be announced. As for the NCAA Frozen Four, it will take place in Pittsburgh, Pa. this year on April 8-10.
