CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Twenty-four Mid-American Conference (MAC) student-athletes were named asĀ MedalĀ ofĀ ExcellenceĀ Award winners for the 2019-20 academic season.Ā TheĀ MedalĀ ofĀ ExcellenceĀ is an award presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete from the graduating classĀ ofĀ eachĀ ofĀ the 12 Conference member institutions.

"TheĀ MedalĀ ofĀ ExcellenceĀ Award is a reinforcementĀ ofĀ the core values that we as a conference and eachĀ ofĀ our member institutions allĀ possess withĀ excellenceĀ in academics, athletics, leadership and service," said MAC Commissioner, Jon A. Steinbrecher.Ā "We congratulate allĀ ofĀ ourĀ MedalĀ ofĀ ExcellenceĀ Award winners."

To be honored with theĀ MedalĀ ofĀ ExcellenceĀ Award, student-athletes had to participate on the varsity level in a conference sponsored sport and shown evidenceĀ ofĀ academic success with a minimum 3.50 accumulative grade-point average, exhibited athleticsĀ excellence, leadership and service.Ā SelectionĀ ofĀ the recipients was made by each MAC institution.
