Falcons Earn USC Team Academic Award

The Bowling Green State University women's soccer program has received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 academic year. The Falcons have earned the award for the fourth-straight season and the ninth time overall.
The USC Team Academic Award is given to soccer programs that have achieved a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
The Falcons had a team GPA of 3.674 in the 2019-20 academic year. In the Fall 2019 semester, the Falcons had a team GPA of 3.641, with 10 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.000 GPA and a total of 19 players making the Dean's List.
In the Spring 2020 semester, no fewer than 25 women's soccer student-athletes made the Dean's List, with an eye-popping 15 of those players earning a perfect 4.000 GPA.
Matt Fannon was the head coach of the Falcons during the Fall 2019 semester, with Jimmy Walker being named head coach in January of 2020.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20Â academic year.
A total of 945 soccer teams (358 men, 587 women) across all levels earned the USC Team Academic Award. BGSU was one of 207 schools to have both the men's and women's team honored.
