Falcons fall, 188.5-179.5, in a meet that came down to the final race

In a thrilling meet that came down to the final race, the Bowling Green State University swim & dive team fell, 188.5-179.5, to Eastern Michigan on Friday night (Jan. 29) at Cooper Pool.

Daisy Platts was stellar for the Falcons, winning three individual events and comprising one-fourth of a winning relay team as well. Platts captured the 100 and 200 Back and 200 IM events, and swam the first leg of the 200 IM Relay team that won the first race of the evening.

Taylor Harris (100 and 200 Breast) and Anna Eriksson (50 Free and 100 Fly) each won two individual races, and both Harris and Eriksson joined Platts for the winning 200 IM Relay. Riley McNichols was the fourth member of that triumphant quartet.

Lauren Sullivan ahd Kellie House each posted a pair of second-place finishes; Sullivan in the 100 and 200 Back events, and House in the 500 and 1000 Free. Maddy Andrews finished second in the 200 Free and teamed with Eriksson, Sullivan and Shaunna Jones to post a second-place finish in the 400 Free Relay.

After Platts won the 200 IM by more than three seconds, the Falcons trailed the Eagles by just four points heading into the final event. EMU, however, won that event, the 400 Free Relay, and although Falcon teams finished second and third, it was not enough to overcome the deficit.

SENIOR NIGHT
It was senior night at Cooper Pool, as the program's five seniors were honored prior to the meet. That group includes Lauren Sullivan, Noelle Lavigne, Kasie Perretta, Shauna Jones and Maddy Andrews.
