Falcons Ready To Bounce Back Against Eastern Michigan
October 28, 2021 | Women's Swimming & Diving
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team will be looking to bounce back this Saturday following a close 148-150 loss to Miami. The meet will be held on October 30, starting at 1 pm at Cooper Pool against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
Looking Back at Last Year
Last season, the Falcons squared off against the Eagles twice. The first was a head-to-head meet in January, where the Eagles defeated the Falcons 188.5-179.5. In February, the two schools competed at Eastern Michigan's Last Chance Meet, where a few Falcons enjoyed success. There, Daisy Platts broke the school record in the 200 meter backstroke. In addition, the relay team of Platts, Taylor Harris, Anna Eriksson and Lauren Sullivan, all of which are returning, save for Sullivan, took first place in the 400 medley.Â
Falcons to Watch
The Falcon diving team had a strong start to the season against Miami and are looking to replicate that performance this weekend. Freshmen Elise Snyder and Sarah Butt are looking to stay hot against the Eagles after both opened their collegiate careers strong, with Snyder winning her first event and Butt placing in the top three of both the 1 meter dive and 3 meter dive. Returning swimmers were key for the Falcons last weekend, and they will likely rely on Platts, Harris, Eriksson and Kellie House again this weekend.
Examining the Eagles
This is the Eagles' first meet of the season. Last year, they went 2-3 and finished 6th in the MAC conference.
