BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons volleyball team (18-7, 14-1) will continue their 2021 Mid-American Conference (MAC) campaign with two road matches at Ohio (10-16, 10-5). Both matches will be played at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio. The series begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, and continues at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13.

This is Bowling Green's final weekend series of the regular season. Following their consecutive sweeps of Kent State, the Falcons clinched the MAC East Division regular season title.

Parking is available in various lots around the Convocation Center.
Per Ohio University policy, masks are required indoors for all fans, regardless of vaccination status. Masks also are required on public transportation and when entering, exiting, or standing in line to enter an indoor campus facility; and are recommended outdoors for unvaccinated individuals who cannot maintain physical distance.

Falcon Facts

Petra Indrova (Offensive) and Julia Walz (Defensive) were named MAC East Players of the Week on Monday. This is the sixth time this season the Falcons have had multiple honorees.
Walz is averaging 5.05 digs per set, the 25^th-best number in the NCAA.
Also ranked 25^th in the NCAA is Hanna Laube, who is averaging 10.73 assists per set.

Series Info
In their lone match of the 2020-21 season, Bowling Green defeated Ohio in four sets. This was the ninth win of the season for the Falcons, who landed nine aces on the evening. Four of those came from Julia Walz, who also tallied 38 digs. Katelyn Meyer and Petra Indrova each registered 16 kills, with Hanna Laube logging 45 assists. The Falcons hold the historical advantage, leading the all-time series 48-38. Ohio has the slight edge in games played in Athens, leading the Falcons 19-17. Bowling Green has won the last five matches.

Opponent Information
The Ohio Bobcats struggled at the beginning of the season, starting with an 0-11 nonconference record and 1-4 MAC record. Since then, the Bobcats are 9-1, including four consecutive road wins. Following the series sweep of Miami (OH), sophomore setter Tria McLean was named MAC East Setter of the Week. Four of Ohio's last nine wins have been in five sets, with only two coming in three sets. Saturday will be Senior Day for the Bobcats, who close their regular season on the road against Kent State.

Coach Tomic's Take
"After a successful weekend at home that concluded with two sweeps, a celebration of our seniors, and clinching the MAC East Division title, our team returned to the gym on Monday, ready to practice hard and get better. When players continue to be intrinsically motivated, and there are no signs of complacency after the successes that we've had, as a coach, I know that we have a special team. Our team is excited to have a strong finish of the regular season, preparing us for the upcoming MAC Tournament.

Ohio, our next opponent, has been playing well lately, so we anticipate two competitive matches in Athens. Our team has prepared well, and I am confident that we will play with BG Warrior spirit and play to win."
