Stoever's Shutout Secures Series Sweep

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (5-1-2, 3-1-0) defeated St. Thomas (1-11-0, 1-7-0) on Saturday (Nov. 6), 3-0. This is the first series sweep of the season for the Falcons, who are 3-0-0 at home. Freshman Christian Stoever registered a shutout in goal for his first collegiate win.

The Falcons will head to Mankato next weekend for a series against No. 2 Minnesota State. Puck drop is at 8:07 p.m. ET on Friday and 7:07 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Scoring Plays
- The Falcons got on the board first, as Alex Barber scored a power play goal with ten seconds left in the opening period. The captain knocked in a deflected shot, with Gabriel Chicoine and Austen Swankler earning the assists.
- Bowling Green extended the lead with a second period goal from Sam Craggs. The senior cleaned up on a rebound in the crease, with Barber and Taylor Schneider notching the assists.
- Swankler found the net for the Falcons in the third period, lighting a lamp with a close-range shot from the left side. Chicoine and Coale Norris were credited with the assists.

- Christian Stoever notched his first career win and shutout, making 18 saves on the evening.
- Alex Barber's goal was his first of the season and 26th of his career. He is tied with Taylor Schneider for the most career goals as a Falcon. The captain has scored 15 power play goals in his career.
- Barber also tallied an assist, his second of the season and 38th of his career.
- Taylor Schneider notched his sixth assist of the year, the best number on the team.
- Gabriel Chicoine tallied his fourth and fifth assists of the season, his second multi-assist game of the year. He has scored 59 points in his collegiate career.
- Austen Swankler has scored a goal in three consecutive games, with tonight marking his second multi-point game of the season. He has tallied five goals and five assists for a team-best ten points.
- Sam Craggs lit the lamp for the first time this season and 22nd time in his career.
