Falcons Continue CCHA Play In Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (5-1-2, 3-1-0) will continue their 2021-22 CCHA campaign with a series against the No. 3 Minnesota State Mavericks (7-3-0, 3-1-0), with games on Friday, Nov. 12, and Saturday, Nov. 13. Puck drop for Friday's game is 8:07 p.m. ET. Saturday's game begins at 7:07 p.m. ET. Both games will be held in the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato, Minnesota. The Falcons, Mavericks, and Bemidji State Beavers are tied for first in the CCHA with identical 3-1-0 conference records.

Tickets, Parking, and Attendance Guidelines
Tickets for both games are for sale beginning at $11. Friday's tickets are available for digital download HERE. Saturday's tickets are available for digital download HERE. Parking is available in downtown parking ramps on Hickory Street and Walnut Street. Handicapped parking is available in designated areas. Per facility policy, there are no Covid-19 related restrictions at this time. However, people who have symptoms or have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 must stay home.

This marks the first meeting between the Falcons and Mavericks since Feb. 6, 2021, a 5-1 victory for MSU. The teams first met on Nov. 28, 2008, with the teams battling to a 2-2 tie. Minnesota State holds a 17-9-3 lead in the all-time series.
Opponent Outlook
Minnesota State opened their conference schedule with a home sweep of Northern Michigan, then followed with a road split with Ferris State. The Mavericks are currently ranked #3 by the USCHO, with wins over ranked opponents Massachusetts, St. Cloud State, and Providence. On October 30, Maverick goaltender Dryden McKay recorded his 27th career shutout, setting a new NCAA Men's Hockey record.

Falcon Facts
- In the St. Thomas series, seven Falcons registered a multi-point performance in one of the games. Chrystopher Collin, Seth Fyten, Alex Barber, and Austen Swankler all notched a goal and an assist. Gabriel Chicoine, T.J. Lloyd, and Taylor Schneider each tallied a two-assist night.
- Swankler scored two goals and one assist on the weekend, earning CCHA Rookie of the Week recognition for the second time this season.
- The Falcons were 7-for-7 on penalty kills last weekend, bringing their season percentage to .906. This is the eighth-best number in the country.
