Play-By-Play Notes
- In the first set, after trailing 3-1, Bowling Green then went on a 12-1 run that included an 8-0 stretch to take a 13-4 lead in the first. Over that span, Taylor Haberland had two of her three aces of the night.
- A 3-0 run for the Falcons soon followed that helped create a 16-5 cushion for the Falcons that rolled into a 25-13 first set victory.Â
- The second set saw a much closer score with both teams trading points until the Falcons used a 4-0 run to grow their lead to 16-12.Â
- That gap held until Miami was able to catch up at 21-21, however, Bowling Green was able to score four of the next six points to come up with the second set win.Â
- In the third set, it was more of the same, but with Miami leading for most of the early portion of the set this time around. However, the Falcons were able to knot it up at 11-11.
- After trading points, a 3-0 run for the Orange and Brown was enough to create space with the score at 18-15. From that point on, the BGSU lead never dropped below two points as the Falcons captured the 3-0 sweep with another ace from Haberland to seal the deal.Â
Falcon Stat FactsÂ
- For the first time since the 1999 season, the Falcons have started out with four sweeps in their first five matches. It also marks the first time since the 2016 campaign that Bowling Green has registered four consecutive sweeps at any point during the season. As for conference play, the last time the Falcons had four straight sweeps against MAC opponents came in the middle of the 2006 conference schedule.Â
- On the offensive side of the ball it was a team effort that led the way. Seven different Falcons landed at least two kills with Katelyn Meyer pacing the team with 11, being the only player in double-digits.Â
- Petra Indrova wasn't far behind Meyer with nine kills. She was also able to add 12 digs to her stat line, being just one kill away from what would have been her third double-double of the season. Indrova also registered two assists to set a new season-high and tie her career-high.Â
- Staying in digs, Julia Walz tallied 18 over the course of the action to lead the team, her second-highest mark of the year and most in three sets.Â
- With her two aces during the 8-0 run in the first set and then another for the final point of the match, Taylor Haberland set a new career-high for aces in a match with three.Â
- Hanna Laube led the team in assists with 30 while adding a little bit of everything across the stat sheet. She also landed two kills as well as two aces. Sticking with pairs, she had two digs and two block assists as well.Â
- As a team, the Falcons were able to knock down seven attacks for blocks. The middle blockers, Katie Kidwell and Nikolija Katanic, each logged three block assists on the night. For Katanic, it ties her season-high. As for Kidwell, she is now up to 364 career block assists, fifth all-time, while also having 425 career total blocks for seventh in program history.Â
- Jacqueline Askin was able to register a season-high six kills in the match. In addition, she tallied her first dig of the campaign.Â
