Petra Indrova Named AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention
April 13, 2021 | Volleyball
LEXINGTON, Ky.- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Tuesday morning (April 13) the list of All-Region recipients for the 2020-21 season. Among those named for the Northeast region was Bowling Green's Petra Indrova, being an Honorable Mention on the list. This comes after Indrova was named to the All-MAC First Team as well as the All-MAC Tournament team.Â
This marks the 13th time in program history a Falcon has to be named among the All-Northeast Region teams and the first since Kallie Seimet was named First Team in both 2017 and 2018. Indrova joins Chrissy Gothke as Honorable Mentions with Gothke being named following the 2006 campaign. In total, nine different Falcons have now been named with Seimet and Lisa Mika being listed twice and Tammy Schiller three times over their tenures in the Orange and Brown.Â
For Indrova, the award comes in the midst of a season that has witnessed her climb to the top two of multiple stats for the Falcons. Indrova is currently second on the team with kills (312), second in digs (235), second in aces (27) and second in total blocks (57). Indrova also has a team-high 11 double-doubles this season, doing so with kills and digs each time. Indrova's 312 kills also place her as one of 30 players in the nation with 300 or more kills, currently 26th in the nation.
Indrova and the Falcons will return to the court on Wednesday (April 14) as they face Weber State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The match will mark the first NCAA Tournament appearance for the Falcons since 2012 and is set to air on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. The full preview story and game notes for the match can be found at BGSUFalcons.com.Â
