Each week, the BGSU Strategic Communications Department breaks down the week ahead in athletics and recaps the week gone by. Listed below are all games over the course of the next seven days with links and information for fans. Following that info are recaps, scores and links from games over the past week.
THE WEEK AHEAD

The Falcons conclude a 10-game road swing with a doubleheader at Toledo on Tuesday afternoon. The games are scheduled to have both live stats and a web stream. The Falcons are coming off of a split of a four-game series at Ohio. BGSU outscored the Bobcats, 15-7, in the four games, winning Saturday's second contest by a 10-0 score. Greta L'Esperance was red-hot at the plate, hitting .600 (9-for-15) in the four games, while Madi McCoy had two homers and five RBI in the series. Payton Gottshall made her return to the circle after missing the previous three weekends due to injury, and pitched a pair of complete games, including a two-hitter in Sunday's 2-1 victory. In that contest, she struck out 11 batters and allowed only an unearned run. This season's massive 40-game MAC schedule sees BGSU slated to play each of the other 10 MAC teams four times each. The Falcons' remaining games include home series vs. Miami (April 30-May 1) and Kent State (May 14-16), and a road trip Northern Illinois (May 7-9). The Falcons will play two midweek doubleheaders each vs. UT (away on Tuesday, home on April 28) and Western Michigan (home on May 4, away on May 12).

The BGSU track and field team has moved up to second place in the Mid-American Conference in the computer track and field rankings by USTFCCCA and the Falcons will conclude the regular season this weekend at three different meets. Bowling Green is ranked No. 1 in the MAC in three different events and No. 2 or No. 3 in another four events. The 400 relay team broke the school record in the event over this past weekend and Savannah Nevels won three events at the Gibson Invitational (the 400 relay, the 100 and the 200).Â

The Bowling Green women's golf program concludes its season this weekend at the 2021 Mid-American Conference Championships. The three-round event will feature all 10 MAC schools and is taking place at Silver Lake Country Club. The Falcons are coming in with a lot of momentum, having finished in second place at the 14-school field Dolores Black Falcon Invitational. At the Dolores Black, Bowling Green finished ahead of five league schools and tied with Akron. BGSU's opening-round 294 marked the program's lowest-ever team score at the event. The Orange and Brown finished in second place at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational for the first time since 2017.
TENNIS (11-6, 7-4 MAC)

The Bowling Green tennis program will return to their home courts this coming Friday (April 23) to host Northern Illinois for a match that is set to begin at 1 p.m. Location of the match will be dependent on the weather and updates can be found on the tennis schedule at BGSUFalcons.com and on Twitter (@BGSUTennis). The match between the Falcons and Huskies will be their second this year, last facing on March 12 in a match that the Orange and Brown won with a 6-1 final. Bowling Green will enter coming off a pair of wins this weekend, topping both Buffalo and Western Michigan. Standing at 11-6 overall and 7-4 in the MAC, being third in the conference. Â

The Falcons take a 7-9 conference record into this weekend's four-game road series at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. The series opener is set for 3:05 p.m. on Friday (April 23) at Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field. In its last series, Bowling Green won the series opener at Central Michigan by a score of 3-2. Andrew Abrahamowicz earned a complete-game victory. The right-hander was dominant over seven innings of one-run ball. Abrahamowicz nearly tossed a no-hitter, allowing just one hit on the afternoon. The senior struck out three and picked up his third win of the season. After the weekend, the Falcons will return to Bowling Green for two-consecutive home series versus Ball State (April 30 -- May 2) and Eastern Michigan (May 7-9). BGSU will then take on Toledo at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo on May 14 at 7 p.m. The two schools recently announced that one game per season will be played at the Mud Hens' world-class ballpark.
