The game will be televised nationally on SEC Network as the Falcons and Volunteers face each other for the first time since 2015. That contest was a wild 59-30 win for then-No. 25 Tennessee in which BGSU rallied from a 21-3 deficit with 17 consecutive points and still trailed just 35-27 midway through the third quarter. The two teams combined for 1,161 yards of offense (557 from BGSU) in that contest.
Following this year's game at Tennessee on Thursday, Sept. 2, the Falcons will host South Alabama (Saturday, Sept. 11) and Murray State (Saturday, Sept. 18) on back-to-back Saturdays. BGSU also hosts Akron (Saturday, Oct. 9) and Eastern Michigan (Saturday, Oct. 23) for home conference weekend games. Bowling Green rounds out the home portion of the schedule by hosting rival Toledo (Wednesday, Nov. 10) and Ohio (Friday, Nov. 26).
