June 07, 2021 | Football, General, Falcon Club, Marketing
BGSU FOOTBALL SEASON TIX ON SALE NOW!
Due to recent announcements by the federal government and the state of Ohio that ease restrictions on large gatherings and the falling positivity rate of COVID-19, Bowling Green State University is planning to welcome back fans to Doyt L. Perry Stadium this fall at 100% capacity!
Â
"We are excited to welcome the Falcon faithful back to Doyt L. Perry Stadium this fall based on university, local, state and CDC guidance," Director of Athletics Bob Moosbrugger said. "When our BGSU students, alumni, fans and families are cheering for our teams and pack the Doyt, it makes a tremendous impact on the game day experience we provide our student-athletes in our pursuit for competitive excellence."
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced on May 12 that health orders related to COVID-19 would be lifted as of June 2. The order removes restrictions on capacity limits, social distancing rules and the mask mandate, except for special cases, such as in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. In addition, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) announced that fully vaccinated people would no longer need to wear masks outdoors or in most indoor settings.
Â
"The BGSU Division of Health and Wellness continues to monitor national, statewide, and local COVID-19 trends. We're glad to see the continual increase in vaccinations and decreases in cases. We are so proud of how our BGSU student-athletes found a way forward last year and we're happy to be able to open the Doyt and all athletic facilities to full capacity to cheer them on," said Chief Health Officer Ben Batey.Â

Under third-year head coach Scot Loeffler, the Bowling Green State University football team has one of the most youthful teams in the country in 2021. With one of the most experienced coaching staffs in the Mid-American Conference, the Falcons have a foundation in place to build another winning program at BGSU.
Â
BGSU will play six home games inside Doyt L. Perry Stadium in 2021, including four Saturday games in September and October and the annual Battle of I-75 against rival Toledo on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The last time the two programs squared off in Bowling Green, the Falcons came away with a 20-7 victory to take ownership of the Battle of I-75 trophy.
Â
"Without fans in the stands, last year was a season like nothing we've ever experienced before," Loeffler said. "We are excited to welcome Falcon fans back to The Doyt this fall. We have a young team in 2021, but one that you won't want to miss. The development of the program continues and your support will make a huge difference."
