Bowling Green Bound For Battle With Bobcats Tuesday Night

ATHENS, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will return to the road this coming weekend, traveling to Athens on Tuesday (Jan. 11) to face the Ohio Bobcats. The Falcons and Bobcats are scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip at the Convocation Center, marking the fourth MAC game of the season for BGSU. The game between the Falcons and Bobcats will be available to stream on ESPN3. Fans can also tune in to the action via radio on WFRO Eagle 99. The meeting between Bowling Green and Ohio will be the first of two this season between the teams and the 150th meeting all-time. The Falcons will enter with the series lead, being 82-67 against the Bobcats. However, Ohio holds the advantage when playing in Athens, being 43-30 when hosting BGSU. As for the MAC Standings, Ohio will enter atop the conference at 3-0 while Bowling Green enters 1-2 after picking up a win over Miami.

Battling The Bobcats
The Bobcats will enter atop the Mid-American Conference with a record of 3-0 to start conference play. Ohio is winners of seven straight and nine of their last 10 contests. On the year, the Bobcats hold a record of 12-2 with their losses coming against Kentucky and LSU. In their last game, Ohio topped Kent State at home in an 80-72 final behind two 20-point outings (Mark Sears, 28; Ben Vander Plas, 20). Sophomore guard Mark Sears leads the Bobcats, averaging 19.7 points per game.Â
Plowden, Reece Forming Dynamic DuoÂ
In the last contest for the Falcons, both Daeqwon Plowden and Joe Reece recorded new career-highs for points on top of logging double-doubles. Plowden posted 27 points, a season-high for the team, while Reece logged his first 20-point game of his career. Both added 10 rebounds as well. The duo combined for 47 of the Falcons' 87 points (54%) as well as 20 of the team's 45 rebounds (44%).Â
Falcons' Offense Rolling In MAC PlayÂ
Through the first three MAC contests this season, the Falcons' offense is averaging 85 points per game. This comes with three Falcons averaging at least 15 points per game in conference play. Daeqwon Plowden leads the way at 18.7 points per game followed closely by both Samari Curtis and Joe Reece, both at exactly 15. Trey Diggs is close to double-digits as well with an average of 9.7 points per game.
Another Milestone Within ReachÂ
Daeqwon Plowden is nearing yet another milestone over the course of his career as a Falcon. Already holding the record for most games played as a Falcon, now up to 137, Plowden is coming close to his 100th start in the Orange and Brown. Having started 96 games over his tenure, Plowden is just four starts away from his 100th for Bowling Green.
