Falcons, Rockets Clash For Battle Of I-75, Bill Frack Challenge This Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will return to the Stroh Center on Saturday (Jan. 15) to host the Toledo Rockets in the Battle of I-75. The game will also be an Orange Out at the Stroh and the Bill Frack Challenge. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tip, marking the fifth MAC game of the season for BGSU. The game between the Falcons and Rockets will be available to stream on ESPN3. Fans can also tune in to the action via radio on WFRO Eagle 99. The meeting between Bowling Green and Toledo will be the first of two this season between the teams and the 177th meeting all-time. The Falcons will enter having won three of the last four meetings over the course of the Battle of I-75 men's basketball rivalry, including the most recent by a score of 88-81. The Orange and Brown hold a record of 50-29 when the series is played in Bowling Green.Â

At The Game: Bill Frack Challenge, Battle of I-75, Orange Out
Fans are encouraged to wear orange to the game for the Orange Out at the Stroh Center. It will also be the Bill Frack Game as the Falcons will recognize the honorary Bill Frack Chair before tip-off.Â

Regardless of vaccination status, all guests, staff, and vendors will be required to wear a face covering while in the Stroh Center. Fans are not required to show proof of vaccination to enter the Stroh Center, but face coverings – covering the nose and mouth – are required for all fans as they watch the game from their assigned seat and enter, exit, and move around. Children 2 and younger will not be required to wear a face covering. If spectators are unable to wear face coverings, they are encouraged not to attend games in-person for the sake of their health and the health of others.

The Rockets will enter the Battle of I-75 with a three-game winning streak and winners in five of their last six. Toledo's lone conference loss came against Kent State in a 66-63 final. Overall, the Rockets are 12-4 on the season and 4-1 in MAC play. Individually, Ryan Rollins leads the Rockets, averaging 19.3 points per game.
Rebounding Is The Key
Bowling Green has established themselves as one of the best rebounding teams in the country. The Falcons average 42.4 rebounds per game, seventh in the nation. This mark leads the MAC, ahead of Buffalo (41.4) and Toledo (41.3). This season BGSU holds a record of 6-1 when they outrebound their opponent, accounting for six of the team's eight wins.

The Falcons have played their best at home this season, being 6-1 inside the Stroh Center. Dating back to the beginning of the 2018-19 season, the Falcons hold a record of 37-12 (.755) when playing at home. Bowling Green enters the Battle of I-75 with a five-game winning streak when at home.
