Men's Hoops Seeking Third Straight Road Win As BGSU Travels To CMU

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will be back on the road for a brief trip away from home, heading to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to face Central Michigan on Tuesday (Feb. 1). The game is set for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off at McGuirk Arena and will mark the 11th of 20 MAC games this season for BGSU. The game between the Falcons and Chippewas will be available to stream on ESPN+. This game will mark the one and only matchup between Bowling Green and Central Michigan this season, being one of two MAC teams the Falcons will face just once with Eastern Michigan being the other. The Falcons lead the all-time series 44-39 while Central Michigan holds the slim advantage when hosting the series, being 23-18. The Orange and Brown hold a two-game winning streak in the series, including being winners in two of the last three games to be played in Mount Pleasant.Â

Central Michigan will enter the game against the Falcons having played just two games over the last two weeks due to postponements. The last time out, CMU topped NIU in a 69-63 finish to grant the Chippewas their third win of the season. Three players are averaging double-digits for CMU. Jermaine Jackson Jr. leads the way (11.4) followed by Ralph Bissainthe (10.1) and Oscar Lopez Jr. (10.0).Â
Getting To The Free Throw LineÂ
For the second straight game, Bowling Green made at least 25 free throws and attempted 31, going 25-of-31 against Kent State. The Falcons previously were 26-of-32 against Eastern Michigan, making the team 51-of-63 (81%) over a two-game stretch. Over the course of the season, the Falcons have made 335 free throws, ranking ninth in the country and first in the MAC. BGSU is also leading the MAC in free throws attempted with 437, 26th in the nation.Â
Plowden On A Hot StreakÂ
Over the last eight games, Daeqwon Plowden has logged four 20-point games. Plowden has been able to tally 27 points, setting a new career-high, against both Miami (OH) and Kent State. He also posted 23 against Western Michigan and 20 against Akron. Over the last eight games, Plowden is averaging 19.8 points per game while also averaging 7.0 rebounds per game over the same stretch.Â
