
Cooper Pool Welcomes Two Falcon Meets

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team is set to host two meets this weekend at the Cooper Pool.
Friday they will be hosting the Butler Bulldogs at 5 p.m. Then Saturday finds MAC foe Ball State competing against the Falcons at home at 1 p.m.
At the Meets
Friday marks the annual Pink Meet for Falcon Swim and Dive 5 p.m. where pink scrunchies will be handed out. Saturday then brings the Orange and Brown's Halloween celebration with free candy for fans.
Falcons to Watch
The Falcons found a lot of success in their season opener at the Zips Classic, finishing second. Both swimming and diving had strong weekends. Day one saw divers finish second, third, and fourth in the 1-Meter Dive. They were led by Grace Ellis thanks to a score of 229.40. The swimmers then added a fourth-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay. Later, junior Riley McNichols took home a fifth-place finish in the 50 Freestyle courtesy of a 23.92 time.
Day two came with similar Falcon success. At the end of the day the Orange and Brown found at least one top five finish in seven of eleven events. Ava Vial opened up the 400 IM with a third-place finish and a time of 4:30.20. Vial also added a fifth-place finish in the 200 Butterfly. Senior Taylor Harris started the season off strong, too. Harris added a third-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke and a fourth-place finish in the 200 Breaststroke. Diver Rayah Blood continued diving's excellence with a first-place finish in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 243.85.
Preview of Opponents
The Butler Bulldogs come into Friday's meet having already competed twice this season. Their first competition of the season resulted in a second-place finish at the Butler Dual Meet. Then they traveled to IUPUI where they fell to the Jaguars.
Ball State will travel to Bowling Green following competition against Eastern Illinois Friday night. This is the second time the Cardinals will have been in the pool following a second-place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet at Purdue University where they finished second.
