BGSU Continues Road Stretch With St. Bonaventure Stop Saturday

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will continue their four-game road trip with the third stop being against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday (Nov. 19). The game is currently set for a 2:00 p.m. tip and will mark the sixth meeting between the two teams all-time. The contest will be available to watch on ESPN+. Saturday's game will mark the sixth meeting between the Falcons and Bonnies and the first in 25 years. The last matchup came on Nov. 15, 1997 and resulted in a 71-63 score in favor of St. Bonaventure. The Falcons lead the all-time series with a 3-2 record, picking up wins during the 1982-83, 1981-82 and 1971-72 seasons. The win in 1981-82 came on the road for the Falcons with a 65-55 final.Â

Scouting St. BonaventureÂ
St. Bonaventure enters the game against the Falcons with a 1-2 record on the season. The Bonnies have lost two straight, but both contests were settled by just four points. St. Bonaventure is led by guards sophomore Kyrell Luc and redshirt junior Daryl Banks III who are averaging 17.7 and 16.7 points per game, respectively. Luc has added 6.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game to his stat line.Â
Ayers III Scoring OutputÂ
Through the first three games of the season, Leon Ayers III has registered two 20-point games for the Orange and Brown. Ayers began the season with 16 points before putting up 26 and 22 in the second and third games of the season. Ayers is the first player for the Falcons to have two 20-point games in the first three contests of a season since Justin Turner in 2020-21. Turner tallied 24 against Michigan and 25 against Appalachian State. Ayers is currently averaging 21.3 points per game, which is third in the MAC and 28th in the nation.Â
Curtis Double-Digit Outings ContinueÂ
Samari Curtis has recorded double-digit points in each game so far this season, as well as having 14 points against Mansfield and 17 against West Virginia in this season's exhibitions. Dating back to last season, and including the exhibitions, Curtis has logged 11 double-digit performances over the last 13 games. Over those 14 games, Curtis is averaging 13.8 points per game.Â
Diving Into The ShotsÂ
This season, the Falcons have a lower field-goal percentage than their opponents but have managed to have a higher percentage from three-point range and from the free throw line. Bowling Green is currently averaging 7.7 three-point field goals made per game and 13.7 free throws.
