Falcons Head to Second Invitational of the Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team is set to compete in the Miami Invite starting on Thursday and running through Saturday.
Featured Falcons
The Falcons are off to one of their best starts in recent years, opening the season 4-1 with a perfect 3-0 record at home. Both the divers and swimmers are performing well. Diver Rayah Blood has five event wins and has finished in the top five in all eight of her dives this season. Blood even posted a personal best in the 3-Meter Dive the last time out with a score of 291.05. Thanks to this personal best and a strong performance the night before Blood was named MAC Diver of the Week.
Upperclassmen swimmers Ava Vial and Riley McNichols have also fed off of the Falcons strong start. McNichols has swam to four event wins with three victories in the 50 Freestyle and one in the 100 Freestyle. Vial has been stellar in the IM. Vial swam to three wins in the 200 IM and two top three finishes in the 400 IM with a second-place finish at the Zips Classic and a third-place finish in the tri-meet at Toledo with Marshall.
The Freshman Falcons have added some depth to this year's squad. Freshmen Morgan Sokol and Emily McNicol have been stellar. Emily McNicol begun her Falcon career with five event wins with three in the 100 Backstroke and two in the 100 Freestyle. McNicol also added a second-place finish in the 100 Freestyle during the Falcon's last meet. Over four meets Sokol has a win in the 1000 Freestyle, and four top three finishes in the 200 Backstroke including a win against Marshall.
