Falcons Find Revenge During Senior Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team took on Marshall University tonight. The Falcons defeated the Thundering Herd 175.5-122.5. The Falcons also recognized seniors Anais Constantinides, Cassidy Daugherty, Taylor Harris, Julia Januszewska, Inbar Mark, Julianna Petrak, and Amber Saxon for their contribution to the team over the course of their careers.
Just over nine months after falling to Marshall, the Orange and Brown got their revenge. The meet started out another set of dominant dives. Elise Snyder won the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 273.38 and was followed by Rayah Blood with a score of 268.73. The Falcon Relay team then captured a win in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:44.44. Livia Castro than swam nearly a mile to a second-place finish in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:41.36. Then senior swimmer Julianna Petrak snatched points in the 200 Freestyle with a second-place finish.
Freshmen Falcons Emily McNicol and Maddie Gallagher then earned event wins in the 100 Backstroke and 100 Breaststroke with times of 56.08 and 1:04.70. The 50 Free then saw Riley McNichols swim to another Falcon victory.
Following a strong first half from the swimmers diving went in head first into the 1-Meter. Rayah Blood found her first win in the 1-Meter Dive this season with a score of 258.60. Fellow Falcon Grace Ellis finished second with a score fo 252.68. Emily McNicol then won her second event of the night in the 100 Freestyle. Next, Morgan Sokol won the 200 Backstroke with a four second cushion to give the Falcons their fourth straight event win. It was in the 200 IM however, where the Falcons secured victory thanks to a first-place finish by Ava Vial with a time of 2:08.60.
