Falcons Set To Conclude Non-Conference Slate Against Ohio Dominican Thursday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will conclude the non-conference and the 2022 portions of the 2022-23 season on Thursday (Dec. 29) inside the Stroh Center. The Falcons will host Ohio Dominican to wrap up a three-game homestand for the Orange and Brown. The game between the Falcons and Panthers is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tip at the Stroh. Thursday will mark the second meeting all-time between Bowling Green and Ohio Dominican. The two teams last played during the 2010-11 season as the Falcons picked up an 81-55 victory over the Panthers in what was the last home opener at Anderson Arena. The Falcons had five players score in double-digits in the win. Â

Scouting The PanthersÂ
Ohio Dominican will enter the game against the Falcons having lost three of their last four and six of their last eight. The Panthers have tallied four wins this season, topping Wilberforce, Alderson Broaddus, Northwood and Wheeling, all coming at home. The Panthers are led by Zach Szul who's averaging 13.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The Waterville, Ohio native, and Anthony Wayne alum, was named the G-MAC Freshman of the Year in 2020-21.Â
80-Point ThresholdÂ
The Falcons have tallied five wins this season and have recorded 80+ points in four of those five wins, being 4-0 when scoring at least 80. Bowling Green tallied a season-high 93 points in the win over Fairmont State, scoring 52 in the second half alone. BGSU shot a season-best 53.6% from the field while being 87.1% from the free throw line to tally the 93 points. In wins this season, BGSU is averaging 82.8 points per game while holding their opponent to 72.4 points over those five games.Â
Powerful In The PaintÂ
In Bowling Green's last two wins, the Falcons have at least doubled their opponent for points in the paint. In the win over Hampton, the Orange and Brown outscored the Pirates 28-14 in the paint. As for the win over Fairmont State, BGSU registered 46 points in the paint, accounting for just shy of half of the team's points, while holding FSU to 22 points in the paint.Â

Over the last four games, Bowling Green has recorded at least 19 assists three times, including having two 20-assist games to tie for the season-high in a single game. Individually, Samari Curtis leads the team in assists with 54 and has registered at least seven in three of the last four games, including a career-high 10 during a double-double against Norfolk State.
