Barber Scores 100th Career Point As Falcons Sweep RPI

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (9-12-0, 7-7-0 CCHA) closed 2022 with a sweep of the RPI Engineers (7-11-1, 2-6-0 ECAC), winning 5-2. Alex Barber tallied his 100th career point, earning two assists on the night. The Falcons scored five unanswered goals, including two on the power play. Christian Stoever stopped a penalty shot and recorded his first career assist, while Austen Swankler scored for the 12th consecutive game.

Scoring Plays
- RPI started the scoring just over two minutes into the contest, with John Evans finding the back of the net. He scored off a BG turnover, with Brendan Budy earning the assist.
- The Engineers added an Austin Heidemann goal a few minutes later, with TJ Walsh and Sutter Muzzati notching the helpers.
- Chase Gresock's power play goal put the Falcons on the board late in the first, with assists going to Taylor Schneider and Alex Barber.
- Nathan Burke tied the game in the second period, scoring on a breakaway. Christian Stoever sent the puck up the ice as the Engineers switched lines, finding Quinn Emerson. He connected with Burke, who lit the lamp for BGSU.
- Austen Swankler scored the game-winning goal 39 seconds into the third, redirecting a shot from Ryan O'Hara. The second assist was credited to Gresock.
- O'Hara added a power play goal in the third, with Swankler and Zach Vinnell tallying the assists.
- Taylor Schneider closed the scoring for Bowling Green, firing a one-timer from the right dot. Assists went to Burke and Barber, with Barber's marking his 100th career point.
- Alex Barber had a pair of assists, giving him 100 career points. He is the 75th player in program history to tally 100 points and is one of 18 active NCAA players with 100 or more.
- Taylor Schneider had a goal and an assist, pushing his season point total to 15 and career point total to 98.
- Austen Swankler had two points, giving him a team-best 28 on the year. The sophomore has scored in 12 straight games.
- Nathan Burke also had a multi-point night, giving him 15 points on the season.
- Chase Gresock reached 90 career points, tallying his 17th and 18th points of the year.
- Ryan O'Hara extended his season point total to 18 with his two-point performance.
- Christian Stoever recorded his first career assist and made 29 saves, including a stop on a penalty shot.
