Falcons Return To Action Sunday On The Road Against Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will be back on the road in Virginia for their next two contests, first taking on Hampton on Sunday (Dec. 11). The game against the Pirates is currently set for a 4:00 p.m. tip and will mark the second meeting all-time between the two programs. The contest will be available to watch on FloSports. Sunday will mark the second meeting all-time between the Falcons and the Pirates. The first meeting came during the 2018-19 season in Detroit, Mich. as part of the Legends Classic. The Falcons came away with an 81-79 victory thanks to a tip-in layup at the buzzer from Demajeo Wiggins to erase a 12-point Hampton lead in the second half.Â

Hampton enters the game against the Falcons coming off two consecutive wins, besting both Howard and Loyola University Maryland. The two wins moved the Pirates to 3-5 on the season with the other win coming against Regent University. Hampton has played a tough schedule, falling to East Carolina, Wake Forest and Georgia.Â
Free Throw FalconsÂ
In the last game against Morgan State, the Falcons went 30-for-42 at the free line, marking the most attempts since having 43 on Jan. 13 , 2018 and the most makes since making 36 on Dec. 30, 2020. Leon Ayers III led the way, going 9-for-11. Over the last four games, the Orange and Brown have shot 75% from the free throw line, going 54-for-72 including a perfect 8-for-8 against Queens. As for the season, BGSU is 74-for-99 at the line for a 74.7% mark.
Agee Shining In Sixth Man RoleÂ
The last four games, Rashaun Agee has come off the bench for the Falcons and has provided a spark. Against Morgan State, Agee posted 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds over 23 minutes off the bench. Since moving into the new role, Agee is averaging 14.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while playing 20.0 minutes per contest over that span. He's also averaging 2.0 blocks per game with eight of his 10 blocks this season coming over the last four games.Â
Curtis Continues Consistent PlayÂ
Through the first eight games of the season, Samari Curtis has played the most minutes for the Falcons, averaging 32.0 per game. Over that time, Curtis has registered double-digit points in seven of BGSU's eight games, averaging 13.4 points per game. Curtis is also leading the Falcons in assists this season, averaging 3.5 per game. Going back to last season, Curtis has had double-digit points in 13 of his last 16 games, averaging 13.3 points per game over that span.Â
