Neal Shines With NCAA Top-10 Finish to Pace BGSU Split-Squad Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. – The Bowling Green indoor track and field team participated in its seventh and eighth meet of the season this weekend (Feb. 11-12) with split squads at Kent State's Doug Raymond Invite and Grand Valley State's Big Meet.
For the second week in a row Zaresha Neal set a PR in the shot put, notching a 56-4.75 (17.19m), which is the ninth-best distance this year and tops in the MAC. Her throw also won the event at the Doug Raymond Invite. Katie Seyfang placed second in the shot put with a PR toss of 53-5.00 (16.28m).
Only four other throws have gone further than Neal's in BGSU history and they all belong to former BGSU first-team All-American, Aliyah Gustafson, who finished seventh at the NCAA DI Indoor Track & Field Championship in 2019.

• Tianna Mulligan had a PR in the 60 at 7.95 at the Doug Raymond Invite
Distance
• At the GVSU Big Meet, Elise Johnson had a PR (18:06.43) in the 5000
• Olivia Collett rand the 5000 for the first time in her career and timed at 17:37.53
Throws
• Neal's 17.19m on shot put is a personal best, topping the 16.81m she had last week at the Akron Invite.
• Neal's mark is the ninth-best mark in the enation this year and tops in the MAC.
• Seyfang's 16.63m on shot put tops her previous personal best of 15.33m at the Wolverine Invite early this season.
