A Bowling Green Win Would …Â
Battling The BullsÂ
Since the last meeting between Bowling Green and Buffalo, the Bulls have gone 6-2 in conference play with their only losses coming against Ohio and Toledo. The Falcons' focus this time will be on slowing the Buffalo offense. In the last game, the Bulls used a team approach offensively that resulted in three players eclipsing the 20-point mark.
Diggs Cleaning The Boards
In the last game, Trey Diggs recorded a season-high 11 rebounds, matching his career-high as a Falcon. The 11 boards brought Diggs' season mark to 116, setting a new single season-high for him in the Orange and Brown. Diggs has found his groove the last four games, averaging 12.0 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game. That includes posting a double-double against Miami with 11 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and the second of his BGSU career.
Sixth Man
Coming off the bench for the Falcons, Myron Gordon has blossomed in the sixth man role. Over the last six games Gordon is averaging over 25 minutes per game. Over that span he's been able to tally three 20-point games for BGSU, averaging 15.8 points over that stretch. Gordon has also found success in the assist department, averaging 4.3 per game, including a season-high eight against Kent State while also being 34-of-43 (.791) from the free throw line.Â
Season Keys To VictoryÂ
Throughout the season there have been a few key stats that have been telling of the outcome for the Falcons. When BGSU logs a higher field goal percentage than their opponent the Falcons are 11-0 on the year. Similarly, when the Orange and Brown outrebound their opponent, BG is 10-3. Finally, when leading with five minutes left in the game, Bowling Green holds a record of 10-1 during the 2021-22 campaign.
