A Bowling Green Win Would …Â
Attacking AkronÂ
Since the last meeting between the Falcons and Zips, Akron has gone 6-4 over 10 MAC contests. Akron most recently picked up a win over Eastern Michigan that snapped a three-game losing streak, falling to Kent State, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois, all by margins of four or less. In the first meeting between BGSU and Akron, the Zips were paced by Bryan Trimble Jr. who tallied 33 points on 10-of-14 from behind the arc while being 3-for-3 from the free throw line.Â
Curtis Leading The WayÂ
Over the last two games, Samari Curtis has led the Falcons in both points and assists while playing at least 30 minutes in each contest. Curtis began last week with 19 points and three assists against Buffalo. He then followed that up with 18 points and six assists against Ball State. Curtis now has a team-high 83 assists this season while averaging 8.7 points per game.Â
Digging Into The ReboundingÂ
Trey Diggs has continued to put in the work on the glass for the Falcons during the month of February. Since logging nine rebounds against Central Michigan on Feb. 1, Diggs has totaled 44 rebounds over the last six games. Over that span he's averaging 7.3 rebounds per game, including a season-high 11 against Miami. In those six games, Diggs has either led the Falcons in rebounds or tied for the team-lead in five contests.Â
Plowden Posting Career YearÂ
In the midst of moving up the all-time record lists, Daeqwon Plowden has also managed to post arguably his best season as a Falcon. Plowden has posted a career-high 431 points this season, resulting in a career-best 16.0 points per game during the 2021-22 campaign. He's also just four blocks and four steals shy of setting new single season-highs for each respective category during his time in the Orange and Brown. Plowden's percentages are among the best of his collegiate career as well, shooting 79.9% from the free throw line and 36% from three, both the second-best single season percentages of his career.Â
