Falcons Welcome Ohio To Stroh Tuesday For Final Home Game Of The Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will host the Ohio Bobcats on Tuesday (March 1) at the Stroh Center for the final home game of the 2021-22 season. The game is set for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off, marking the 19th of 20 MAC games this season for BGSU. The game between the Falcons and Bobcats will be available to stream on ESPN+. The Falcons and Bobcats will be meeting for the second time this season after previously playing on Jan. 11 in Athens. Ohio came away with a slim 85-78 win in that contest. Daeqwon Plowden led the way for the Falcons with 18 points and eight rebounds with Brenton Mills chipping in 13 points. All-time, Bowling Green leads the series with a record of 82-68 against OU. As for games played in Bowling Green, the Falcons are 47-23, including three straight wins against the Bobcats in the Stroh Center.Â

Since the last meeting between the Falcons and Bobcats, Ohio has gone 10-4 in conference play to put them in the middle of the race for the MAC Regular Season crown at 14-4. However, the Bobcats lost their last game to Akron, 91-83. The last time BGSU and OU faced Jason Carter led the way for Ohio with 22 points and eight rebounds. Mark Sears was close behind with 19 points and six rebounds while Tommy Schmock had 17 points and seven rebounds. Â
Diggs At Home In February
Trey Diggs has settled in inside the Stroh Center during the month of February. During the month, the Falcons played four home games and Diggs posted three double-digit scoring games, including 19 in the last game against Western Michigan. At home during the month of February, Diggs averaged 13.8 points for the Falcons as well as 5.8 rebounds per game over the same stretch.Â
Turner's Impact Off The Bench
Chandler Turner has stepped up for the Falcons off the bench this season. Turner posted 14 points and five rebounds against Western Michigan the last time out, his seventh double-digit scoring game this season. Turner is currently fourth on the team for double-digit point games this season, trailing just Daeqwon Plowden (26), Trey Diggs (13) and Samari Curtis (11) in the category.Â
Plowden Posting Career YearÂ
In the midst of moving up the all-time record lists, Daeqwon Plowden has also managed to post arguably his best season as a Falcon. Plowden has posted a career-high 451 points this season, resulting in a career-best 15.6 points per game during the 2021-22 campaign. He's also just three blocks, two steals and five assists shy of setting new single season-highs for each respective category during his time in the Orange and Brown.
