Falcons To Face Golden Flashes In Kent Tuesday Night

KENT, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will take to the road for their next contest, traveling to face Kent State on Tuesday (Feb. 8). The game is set for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off at the M.A.C. Center, marking the 13th of 20 MAC games this season for BGSU. The game between the Falcons and Golden Flashes will be available to stream on ESPN3. Fans can also tune in to the action via radio on WFRO Eagle 99. The Falcons and Golden Flashes will be meeting for the second time this season after Kent State took the first game by a score of 91-83. In the first game, Daeqwon Plowden led the way with 27 points, matching his career-high. Myron Gordon and Joe Reece also hit double-digits with 13 and 12 points, respectively. All-time, Bowling Green leads the series with a record of 89-79 against Kent State. As for games played in Kent, the Golden Flashes hold the advantage at 46-35.Â

Since the last meeting between Bowling Green and Kent State, the Golden Flashes have gone 2-0 with MAC wins over both Miami, 78-65, and Eastern Michigan, 90-71. This time around the Falcons will work to stop junior guard Sincere Carry. In the last meeting, Carry tallied 30 points, going 11-of-19 from the field over 37 minutes of action. Carry was joined in the double-digit scoring by VonCameron Davis (17), Andrew Garcia (13) and Malique Jacobs (11).
Second Time's The CharmÂ
The Falcons have now started the process of playing some Mid-American Conference opponents for the second time this season, which has shown positive results in the recent past for the Orange and Brown. During the 2020-21 season, BGSU went 5-2 when playing MAC opponents the second time with the two losses both being decided by five points or less. The Falcons are off to a similar start this year, besting Northern Illinois 87-65 the last time out, their first time playing an opponent for the second time this season.

The last time out, the Falcons held Northern Illinois to just 65 points marking the first time this season BGSU has held a MAC opponent under 70 points. Bowling Green is 5-0 this season when holding their opponent under 70 points. In those five games, the Falcons have outscored their opponent by an average of 34.8 points.Â
